12:46 pm - Welcome to Duhland
Felt like something was off today. Realized when I got to work that I was wearing navy tights. Too bad my outfit is gray and black and my shoes are black! Duh!! This is *so* not the first time I have worn the wrong color tights.

Beautiful day outside but all that sun means major glare on my 2" monitor. Cheap bastards.

Am soooooooooo unmotivated.

Good news for jadedheart: I got paid today so I can mail your package! Will try to get Sera's and Caroline's packages out tomorrow. Just need to stick them in the box.

Well I need to go to the post office and get postcard stamps so I can mail some postcards from NY. I have realized that I have no shoes to wear with my capri pants that will be comfortable, so I need to buy some sneaker mules or something cute (Vegas blister flashback).

current mood: dorky

7:57 pm - Dark & stormy night
Doesn't bother me once I don't have to drive in it!! I've got my flannel jammies (or "yammies" courtesy of Missi) and my big socks and a big furry fishmonster of a cat.

Am kind of enjoying the weather so I can curl up in a blankie and read tonight.

Will be working on matches for those anxious package souls.

current mood: toasty warm

2:17 pm - Polka dots and annoying co-workers
I wore my lil' polka dot skirt with a bright fuschia top and black cardigan today so I would feel confident when talking to my old boss about aforementioned annoying co-worker. I explained the situation, told her all the ways how this could have snowballed into a major confidentiality issue (espec. considering whose information it was--a real bitch and stickler for rules) and I basically just said that I was doing a favor for AC in the first place and for her to open my mail and then withhold it from me so that I could not complete a favor for her was freakin' ludicrous.

What my old boss doesn't understand is that this will reflect badly upon her in the end, having a weak person on her staff. She makes a mistake with the wrong person and she is history. This girl is a total idiot. She dressed up real purty today (I guess trying to make a good impression) but no one is talking to her and she ignores me when we pass by in the hallway. I don't really care; I was never her friend and don't want to be. She can kiss my gloss!!

Went to Target and finally picked up my redeveloped roll of pics from Vegas. Will try to post more this week. I had bought something for Sera and Mark there last week but I went back and bought more. Now they will each get two! You'll understand when you see them guys...hee hee. I hope you like them! Now I want to keep them, but I will remain true to the package spirit and give them to you kiddies...

I am unintentionally sparkling today. Apparently I was so tired this morning that I put a wee bit too much shimmery eyeshadow on, and now it's all over my cheeks and I can't get it off...LOL. I guess I will be forced to glow!!

In a pretty good mood today...weather has cleared up. It was nice to get out of the office even though I had no money to buy cute package stuff for my buds. I returned some stuff so once the credit comes through on my check card it'll free me up to mail some stuff. Isn't living paycheck to paycheck fun???? If something drastic ever happens to me I don't know what I'll do b/c I won't be able to pay for it.

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon!

7:34 pm - Oops I did it again...
...that's right, it was a Britney Spears skirt day! I felt like such an idiot but I'm tired of wearing the same stuff. I work with mostly girls anyway so it's not like anyone is looking at my legs except me ;)

Annoying co-worker had the nerve to come back later this afternoon and apologize for the mail incident. I thought she was going to cry. I kind of wish she would have cried. *evil grin* I reamed her a new asshole (in a polite way, of course). "I just didn't realize it had your name on it. I saw who it was from and I opened it." I mean, give me a fucking break. Who on earth would open a confidential envelope with someone else's name on it? There is just no excuse. We are in the business of confidentiality. Fortunately, nothing came of this, but I explained to her several ways in which her mishap could have caused needless worry to the sender of the information, and also made our dept. look like a bunch of idiots. "You need to think," I told her. She was like, "I know I need help in the thinking dept."

Yes, ladies and gents, these are the fine top quality people that my company hires. She was at her job many moons before I started, so why am I training her? Everyone in the freaking building hates her except for her supervisor. She schmoozes her supervisor while the rest of us make up for her mistakes. She is so ditzy it just isn't funny and I am tired of her sorry pathetic whiny ass. I told her how I felt and tomorrow I am telling her boss. This could have snowballed into something much bigger all b/c of her being an idiot. And I am not even supposed to be working in that area anymore so why I am dealing with this crap? Why? Why????

Okay, I feel better getting that off my chest. It just bothers me to see someone who makes more money than I do, has benefits, etc. and I swear to God this girl could not add two and two together. I don't know how she got through college. She didn't sleep her way to the top b/c she's the world's biggest prude.

Believe it or not, I do take my job seriously, and I have to b/c of all the legalities involved. I may do a little look-see for some lip gloss, but when I am dealing with sensitive information, I don't fuck around. One little mistake does a lawsuit make!

Well I have to go catch up on the laundry and make some phone calls. After that it's relaxation time for me!! I also need to make some packages this week....I'll be in NY this weekend so let me know if you want something if you haven't already! jadedheart, I didn't get your package out today but promise to mail it out this week sweetie! Hope you have recovered from your weekend!

Jessa, I hope everything is well with you. I also hope you got my package and that it cheers you up! *hugs*

2:48 pm - Back from da beach
Well, I had fun at my "girly beach weekend" trip although it rained the whole time. The five of us arrived in OC Friday night after stopping for food on the way. We stayed in Fri. and drank and gossiped and went to bed early. I woke up around 3 with a screaming migraine. Decided to sleep downstairs on the couch where it was cooler. Took some pills, tossed and turned, finally took a shot and got back to sleep around 6 or 7. Not my best night :(

We woke up at a reasonable hour the next morning. Hung out, talked, and took our time getting ready. We went out to eat lunch at Fager's Island. We shared some appetizers and I had chicken quesadillas...yummy! The other girls had drinks but my head was still a little shaky so I decided I would wait til later to start drinking again. We had a really nice (and large!) lunch, and then when we got the check my friend Melinda offered to pay for it. It was a really, really, really nice thing to do! Especially b/c I did not take a lot of money with me so I was budget girl for the weekend. She said she wanted to treat us. *sniff sniff* I need to send her a thank-you card this week because it was really nice of her (and this was not a cheap meal!).

After lunch, we decided to try and find a tanning salon so we could get some kind of sun, even if it was fake! *LOL* We found one with several beds, and the owner was very friendly (and incredibly chatty; she told us her whole life story) so we took turns doing that. Then we went to CVS for Cover Girl Outlast lipstick, which was on sale. I passed as I prefer gloss over lipstick most of the time. But I did purchase a little cheesy souvenir thing for Caroline. We didn't really do any other shopping so that was all I bought.

We went back to the house and hung out. Some of the girls played cards. I read magazines and took a nap. Melinda had to drive back b/c she had plans on Sunday. I joined in on the cards (...and maybe a little drinking...) for a little bit, and then we went out to Seacrets (*the* OC hot spot). The line wasn't too bad, but the cover charge wsas $10! For two cheesy bands and overpriced drinks...ridiculous. Usually it's $5 after 10, so we need to go earlier next time.

Did not get my jerk chicken :( but maybe Chris and I will go there and eat if we get to the beach this summer. We basically walked around, had a few drinks, and did some hardcore dancing and jumping around. Left when the bar closed. Kelly and I went home, and Karen and Nancy went to get something to eat.

We woke up around noon the next day. Kelly and I had been in around 3, so we got some decent sleep. Went out to lunch, packed and cleaned up, and got on the road around 4. Hit a lot of traffic and I think I got home around 9:30. I unpacked, watched a little TV, and went to bed. Chris had bought Chinese food so there was chicken lo mein waiting for me. What a good boyfriend! *smooches*

Today has blown chunks. Did not sleep well, did not want to get up this morning. It's raining and gloomy and crappy here. I had to go off on one of my co-workers (the aforementioned "annoying co-worker"). I was waiting to receive something important in the mail, and when it came, she opened it and held it desk since Friday. Okay, it was in a confidential envelope addressed to me. She saw who it was from and thought it was her business. Guess what, bitch? It's not! I confronted her about it and she pretended like she didn't see my name on it. I am going to my former supervisor (her supervisor) tomorrow when she gets back from vacation and letting her know what happened. I was at the point where I was ready to call the employee and tell them I never got it, which would have created an uproar b/c it was extremely confidential information. The whole time it was sitting on her desk. Dumb bitch. Idiot. Cunt. I do not buy her act one bit, and neither does anyone else.

Then I walked over to Bennigan's to get soup and a roll, and they did not give me their famous honey butter for the roll :( It's a torrential downpour outside so I am not walking back. I was going to go to Target to return stuff, but forget it! I don't need the stress...

Hope everyone had a good weekend and that your Monday is better than mine!!

1:07 pm - Happy Friday!
Yeah, I have not accomplished a lot today. Some of the girls I am going to the beach with are off work today, so I have talked on the phone with them, talked to my mom, sent e-mails etc. Am trying to be motivated but it's just not happening. Plus I will be out of here in 2 hours anyway so why bother??

Mailed Jessa's package today. I will mail jadedheart's package on Monday. Am still working on things for sera, Caroline, and Karen. Oops, and working on packages for Mark and Angel. I will try to mail them at the end of next week! I am going out of town for Memorial Day weekend too, though so if I get in a crunch I will mail them when I get back from New York.

And New York souvenir requests, please let me know!!

Well, I'm out of here at 3, home to change and grab my stuff, then off to the beach. It's gray and gloomy here today but should be nice weather tomorrow. Have a great weekend everyone!!

11:43 pm - Packages!!
Thank you jadedheart for my yummy smelling goat's milk soap. I can't wait to try it!!

I have finished my packages for jadedheart and Jessa but I'm wondering if I should wait until Monday to mail them. They have meltable things in them and I don't want them sitting around somewhere all weekend...I will think about it and take them to work tomorrow and see if I have a chance to hit the post office.

Hope everyone had a great day. I watched the Friends and ER season finales while making packages and doing laundry. Both were disappointing (although I was intrigued by what Carter said to Abby...but I like her and Luca together). Friends was retarded. I guess that's why I don't watch that show anymore. It's sad, b/c it used to be so good, and now I can watch an entire episode and not laugh once. I would rather watch a rerun from 4 years ago than a new episode! LOL

Okay, well I am going to the beach tomorrow for the weekend, so I need to do some quick package matches and pack and go to bed. Will have to wear a swimsuit this weekend :( but I will get some sun :) and hopefully some sleep :)

1:35 pm - Gloomy day
It is *freezing* here and quite gloomy outside. I'm getting ready to go to Target and pick up a few snacks for my package buddies, plus the pictures they redid. We'll see how they turned out.

Today has been okay. I don't feel like doing anything else for the rest of the day but I was pretty productive this morning. Am trying to think of exciting things that happened...mmm I brought my lunch, pasta with little those perdue shortcuts chicken thingies in them. Was pretty good except I kept dropping pasta on my skirt. It's printed so it's not that obvious.

I'm having a good hair day. We'll see what happens once I go back inside. Well I can't think of anything interesting to write. Heading off to Target...

8:37 pm - Feeling pouty
I had to move to my new desk today. I hate it. The cube is right by our huge back window and there is a serious glare no matter where I put my computer. So now it is stuffed into this corner at a weird angle and I'll prob. give myself carpal tunnel and back pain and turn into a computer troll. I also hate my new phone. It's huge and ugly. And I am the last cube in the main aisle on the way to the bathroom so everyone who has to pee thinks it is a good idea to stop by and chat. Uncross your legs and get out of my face!

This is so stupid. I am twice as far away from the new people I am working for. I basically had to move due to stupid office politics. Now I am on the "good" side of the bldg. Morons! But my new cube is very "visible" so I am going to have to cut down on the LJ at work. *pout pout*

Nothing exciting happened today. I was very, very busy and did not have time to eat lunch until like 3:30. So then I had a headache and got cranky. Now I'm sitting here trying to will myself to finish cleaning the bathroom. I did half of it last night but then went to bed.

Wish there was something good on TV tonight. Think I will read a magazine or a book and go to bed early.

-stickopotamus photo captions
-Boston magnet for my fridgeolicious
-little book about shoes (feed the obsession!)

-blue picture frame shaped like a flower with a little bee on it (so damn cute!!)

It was fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! Thank you darling! *smooches*

8:09 pm - Dirt recipe for Sera

one brownie mix
one 12-oz. package cool whip
one box instant chocolate pudding
bunch of Heath or other toffee bars, chopped into small pieces
large round bowl (a big round Tupperware bowl works great and has a lid)

Make brownies and let cool. Cut into bite-sized pieces. Make pudding. Stir cool whip so it's nice and fluffy.

Put a layer of brownie pieces on the bottom of the bowl. Pour thin layer of chocolate pudding on top of brownies. Spread a medium layer of cool whip on top of pudding. Sprinkle toffee bits on top. Make two more layers the same way.

Refrigerate immediately. Works best if you make it the night before because all the ingredients mush together. This is so yummy! In fact, I am glad there is some leftover in the fridge b/c I want some after typing this!

-chopped up peanut butter cups
-if you want to make it "lite" just use cool whip lite, sweet escapes toffee bars, low fat brownies, and sugar free pudding
-to make it "themey" line a *sparkling clean* terracotta pot with aluminum foil. Add dirt ingredients. Put crushed up oreos all over top and place gummy worms on top of dirt. Can also use a fake flower or other asst. novelty items. Scoop the dirt out with a *sparkling clean* trowel or garden tool.

Okay, have I given you guys some ideas now?? This dessert is awesome, chocolatey but not too much chocolate, and very cute. It's a party people-pleaser.

7:41 pm - Tee hee
Well I am just sitting here feeling much too pleased with myself for a Monday. I came home to find something I ordered for my package buddies *and* a package from Sera. I am so stoked about her package that I haven't even opened it yet! And I am also stoked about the stuff that came today for my buddies. Some of it is so cool, you just have no idea! And I have something that smells really, really good that I think Sera will love. I hope so!!

Quick recap of yesterday: Went to my parents' house about 1. Gave mom her gifts (plants, new watering can, chocolates, etc.). Gave Joe and Heather their wedding gift (very kick ass Yankee candle basket with big candles, toppers, votive holders, votives, car jars, etc.). Gave Kelly part of her birthday gift (very cool glass votive holders with painted flowers on outside and matching votives; also a goody bag w/Clinique touch base and other little goodies in it; also the engagement album and matching picture box from me and my mom; her other gift, a Midori Sour Primal Elements candle, arrived today and I will give it to her at the beach this weekend). Had brunch. Had the dirt I brought. Sat around and chatted and did gifts.

Went to Chris's parents' house. Gifts for mom (movie gift basket w/snacks and Blockbuster gift card; plants; and we paid for Chinese food for dinner). Gifts for grammie (new mat for front porch w/cats on it; cat picture frame; plant). Gifts for dad's birthday (optical mouse and photo paper). Sat around and chatted. Ate dinner. Sat around and chatted. Went home and got back around 9:30. Now this means I missed the Sopranos but I will see it tonight when they replay it. Yes, honey, sometimes I am very happy for our 13 HBO channels b/c it means I never really miss the Sopranos.

The bad part about yesterday was that I had another migraine. I was trying to avoid taking a shot and took pills instead. When we were at Chris's house, the stress of the weekend (and my entire life) were making it unbearable. Unfortunately, all I had was a refill and not the cylinder that screws into the needle that you push the button to inject yourself. So we had to use a little knife to get the refill out, then I had to jab the needle into my arm, except that the stuff wasn't coming out. So then I had to hold the needle in my arm and Chris took a little screwdriver and pushed the little plastic thingie down so the needle went deeper into my arm and the Imitrex went into my bloodstream. This was a little more painful than usual. Um, big ouchies. And I got a little blood on my white peasant top shirt :(

Okay, pouting over. I was really tired this morning but overall my day was not too bad. I am not jinxing anything, but let's just say that things are looking up for me on the work front. There were a lot of people out today (including my boss) so I had the opportunity to shine. For the first time in months, I am feeling good about my potential at this company, and I am glad I stuck in there for the long haul and did not give up when the going got tough.

I hope everyone has a wonderful night! I need to go open up and enjoy my package, work on other packages, and make some package gang matches before they sic the hounds on me!!

current mood: energetic

1:41 pm - Doh!
So today's winner occurred this morning when the construction crew swung their big gigantic crane into the parking garage. A full parking garage, mind you. There was only minor damage to one or two cars but no one can go in or leave the garage except some structural inspector guy. So if you came here for a meeting or something temporary, you're screwed! You're stuck here and you can't get your car out of the garage for prob. a few more hours. And this happened hours ago!

I guess somebody was looking out for me b/c I got in here early enough to get a spot out front. And the time it occurred is the time I am usually parking my car in the garage and coming into work. A little odd, don't ya think??

There are so many idiots in the world. I mean, hello? It's a big ass crane. Watch where you put it buddy! That could have slammed into a person.

1:23 pm - Monday again :(
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Mondays. Was up very late last night and had odd dreams. Had to be into work early this morning so I could show that I am a "team player." I am not a morning person. My eyes are shut until about 10 in the morning, and then I become human again. Of course, the good thing about coming in early is that you get to leave at a reasonable hour. So I'm jazzed about that.

Finishing stuff up for my current job, and I'll be slowly moving to my new desk this afternoon. We'll see what happens there. It looks like it may lead to more promising things, but there are no guarantees.

Gonna go eat my soup and roll and try to get rid of my headache. Feel slightly grumpy. Could use a nap. Grrrr...

current mood: blah
